Religion
Since Lynnea has taken over Italy, the majority of the population is still Roman Catholic. It is home to the Pope who lives in Primor, Lynnea’s capital to this day. A small proportion of the population is Muslim, and another is Buddhist, while the rest doesn’t believe in any religions. Due to the large population of Roman Catholics, there are a variety of Cathedrals built all over the country, which are popular touristic attractions. The biggest Cathedral found in Lynnea is the “Duomo di Milano” in the former city Milan, which is pictured above. Temples and Mosques are a common sight as well, though these are built more specifically in the areas where more people follow either religion. The majority of the population is very accepting of other religions, and it is also a law that all people must be treated equally, no matter their religion, race, gender or sexuality. Obviously, there will always be individuals who aren’t as accepting of these factors, but the law at least prevents inequality in workplaces.

Culture
Lynnea’s traditional language is Italian, though only a little part of the population speaks it since English is the primary language now. Italian is not taught in schools anymore since there is only a slight portion of the population who is fluent in it and is only spoken in the countryside in smaller towns. English is the primary language taught in schools. Second languages taught in schools are French and Spanish. Latin used to be taught, but since it’s a dead language, it hasn’t been taught since the late 1900’s. Speaking English is beneficial for the country since it is one of the most spoken languages in the world and it is used for business as well as tourism in the country. Lynnea’s culture has been broadly influenced by the early Italian culture in the beginning of the 1500’s and has overtaken many of their traditional foods, architecture and art. Though it was also influenced by other countries due to its large trading harbour in the early 1700’s. Lynnea were one of first European countries to try the coffee and is now known for their unique coffee creations. A coffee named “Lepidus”, which translates to delicious is what Lynnea is most famous for, food-wise. It is a unique blend of dark coffee beans, hazelnuts and milk. It is a nice mix since it isn’t too strong and doesn’t have too much milk, making it taste more like coffee. The country is known for its unique designs on the coffee using milk, as shown in the picture above.
There are close to no national celebrations since most celebrations focus on the different religions. If there is a holiday for one religion, there will be no public school. This rule was made a couple of centuries ago because students were complaining of being unfairly treated, because before only the people of that specific religion got the days off to follow their traditions. Nowadays it is respected and simply seen as a few extra days of relaxation by the people who don’t follow that religion.
